GAP Ministries ("God's Apostles Providing") works with the United Way of Coastal Empire's "Hammers, Hearts and Hands" program to build wheelchair ramps for families in need in Effingham County. They also make nursing home visits, contribute Bibles, and provide minor home repairs, painting, and emergency relief for families in need. Each year, GAP Ministries sponsors The Shaw Wilkerson Achievement Awards to honor the accomplishments of special needs youth and their families.

To date, GAP Ministries has provided wheelchair ramps for more than 170 households.
